As a boy, Doug grew up watching his father perform as a magician. He received his first magic book at the age of five and never stopped learning. As a teen, he joined the Society of American Magicians and was performing at dinner cabarets when he was in high school. As he got older, he moved away from typical magic tricks and studied the art of mentalism.
